Teachers in Nicaragua will receive a nine percent pay rise from this month. This is the ninth year in a row that the FSLN Government has ensured that investment in teachers and the education sector has reached the levels outlined in the Education Law. Since the FSLN came to power in 2007,teachers and other staff in the education sector have received more than a 50% pay increase, as well as improved training. The Government continues to focus on the quality of education in the country, emphasising the importance of a better education infrastructure and professional training as well as the living conditions and wages of those working in the sector.
